Hello, I am Maria

I work as a project manager, am a parent, and I live abroad as an expat in Lisbon, Portugal.

Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Portugal wasn’t in our long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Routine tasks seemed unnecessarily tricky.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, over time routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began to create something that felt secure.

Why I Built Clear Source Leaf

Most online guidance fell into either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated when real changes occur

This site ISN'T:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored-review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Portugal goes on, and so does the process of learning. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.

If you have inquiries about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Cheers,

Maria
